BACOLOD CITY – Anti-drug operatives arrested nine individuals and seized P618,800 worth of suspected shabu in four separate buy-busts in the past two days, according to reports of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas.
Near midnight on Friday (Dec. 10), the drug enforcement team of Station 8 collared Elizabeth Gonzales, 42, at her house in Purok Kahirup B, Barangay Mansilingan.
The suspect, who works as a street cleaner, sold a sachet of the prohibited substance at P500 to an undercover policeman at about 11:30 p.m.
Maj. Joery Puerto, Station 8 chief, said in a radio interview on Saturday (Dec. 11) that the suspect, a newly-identified drug personality, acts as a “bodegera” or keeper of illegal drug supply.
She allegedly gets her supplies from a group associated with a convicted drug pusher jailed at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
Puerto said Gonzales and the convict have a romantic relationship.
The convict’s brother delivers the supply to Gonzales, Puerto added.
Gonzales yielded six big and nine elongated plastics sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing a combined 50 grams and valued at P340,000.
On Thursday (Dec. 9), Ernesto Cardeñas was arrested in Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang-Airport by the BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit at around 6:30 p.m.
A high-value target, Cardeñas sold P1,000 worth of the prohibited substance to an undercover policeman.
He also yielded eight plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing about 28 grams and estimated to cost P190,400.
At about 3:00 p.m. the same day, six were arrested at a drug den in Pilit 2, Barangay 6 by the PDEA-6 Special Enforcement Team and PDEA-Negros Occidental Provincial Office Seaport Interdiction Unit.
Nabbed were suspected drug den maintainer Anthony Montelibano and companions Arnold Bacan, Andrew Salazar, George Itchon, Gerly Itchon, and Ricky Salazar.
Operatives also seized several sachets of shabu, weighing about 10 grams with a value of P68,000, along with improvised drug paraphernalia.
Eric Fernandez was likewise arrested Thursday by operatives of Police Station 6 in Purok Amaliz 1, Barangay 40 with shabu valued at P20,400 after transacting with a poseur buyer. (PNA) – bny
