Gov’t jabs 5-M Filipinos during Bayanihan Bakunahan 2

By Pearl Gumapos

The National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) on Wednesday (Dec. 22) reported 5,056,186 total doses administered during the second round of the Bayanihan Bakunahan campaign.

This is for Dec. 15 to 21.

“With the results ng yesterday at saka Monday, we are somehow comfortable na kaya pa nating i-push iyong pagbabakuna with more than 1,000,000 doses,” NVOC member Dr. Kezia Lorraine Rosario said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

“Today, mayroon na tayong 45.2 million fully vaccinated. Tapos yesterday, nakikita natin na 62% ng ating vaccination na ginawa yesterday was really for the administration of second doses,” she said.

Rosario also said that while the community is tired, it cannot afford to have its guard down, especially with the new threat of the Omicron variant.

She said that the best gift one can give the Filipino community is to get vaccinated this Christmas season.

Rosario said that they are optimistic about reaching the goal of 54 million fully vaccinated Filipinos.

“Optimistic kami dito na maabot natin. We really would emphasize na kailangan natin to ensure iyong full vaccination ng ating mga kababayan with the threat of the Omicron variant,” she said. – bny
