Duterte visits Cebu again after Odette’s onslaught

President Rodrigo Duterte visited the victims of Typhoon Odette in Cebu again as he continued his rounds in typhoon-affected areas in Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday (Dec. 23).

In his second visit to the area after the typhoon, Duterte joined the distribution of relief goods at Labangon Elementary School in Cebu City. He has assured in his recent visits that relief missions will continue despite the holiday season.

The Chief Executive has already instructed government agencies to strengthen their relief and recovery efforts.

“P100 million kada probinsiya ang programa ng gobyerno. Ito ang pangako ng aking opisina. Pero ang mga proyekto sa Manila, naka-programa na, mayroon na sana, pero inihinto na muna para ibigay sa mga tao,” Duterte said in Cebuano.

Following the visit to Typhoon Odette survivors, a command conference was also conducted where he assured the utilization of military and police assets for the relief efforts. – Report from Mela Lesmoras/AG – jlo
