Shear line, ‘amihan’ bring rains over most of PH

Philippine News Agency

MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience rains on the last Monday of 2021 due to two weather systems.

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the shear line is affecting Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Aurora, Aklan, Capiz, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in these areas.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring cloudy skies with rains over the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

The Ilocos Region will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the shear line or localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds moving northeast will blow over Luzon, the Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao with moderate to rough coastal waters while light to moderate winds heading northeast will be experienced over the rest of Mindanao with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The minimum temperature is 22.6 °C and the maximum temperature is 30 °C. (PNA) – bny
