Suspected stealer of fighting cock electrocuted in Cavite farm

SILANG, Cavite — A suspected thief of fighting cock died early Monday morning after he got electrocuted by a live wire installed in the perimeter fence of a farm in Barangay San Vicente 2 in this town, a police report said on Tuesday.

Initial investigation showed that around 6 a.m. Monday, an unidentified suspect was electrocuted while trying to steal three game fowls in a farm owned by former village chief Ryan Medina in Barangay San Vicente 2.

Police investigators who responded to the scene said farm worker Dennis Magcuha found the victim lying on his belly inside the farm.

According to the farm owner, there have been several incidents his game fowls were stolen by unknown suspects with the last reported theft on November 16.

Said incidents prompted him to install live wire on the perimeter fence of his farm to ward off thieves.

Police and the farm owner could not ascertain if the dead suspect was also responsible for the earlier theft incidents. Scene of the crime operatives (SOCO), led by Senior Inspector Rainer Arm from the nearby Tagaytay Police Satellite Office, was requested to process the crime scene for an autopsy examination of the victim and safekeeping until claimants could identify the victim’s remains.

The Silang municipal police is still conducting their follow up operations and coordination with local officials from nearby villages who could help identify the victim. (Rogelio Limpin/PNA)
