By Pearl Gumapos

The OCTA Research Research Group said on Saturday, Jan. 22, that the reproduction number of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) continues to decline.

In a tweet by OCTA Research member Dr. Guido David on Saturday (Jan. 22), the NCR reproduction number is now down to 1.20.

“The reproduction number in the NCR decreased to 1.20 as of Jan. 19, from 2.95 one week ago,” David said.

“The one-week growth rate also decreased to -42%, indicating a clear downward trajectory in new cases.”

David also said that the average daily attack rate (ADAR) in NCR decreased to 72 per day per 100,000 which is still at very high level.

“Residents of NCR are advised to continue to practice extreme caution and strictly comply with health protocols in public areas,” David said. – bny
