Hundreds of shooting enthusiasts see action in Laguna PNP shootfest

CABUYAO CITY, Laguna — The Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) has slated its two-day Provincial Director’s Cup Shoot Fest from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 25-26 at the Laguna Gunners Firing Range in Barangay Diezmo in this city.

Senior Inspector Gerry L. Sangalang, Laguna police public information office chief, said the shoot fest, hosted by the Straight Shooter Gun Club Inc. and the Sandigan 94, would be chaired by Laguna provincial police director Senior Superintendent Cecilio R. IsonJr as the Match Director.

Sangalang said Ison would be assisted by the LPPO finance branch head Chief Inspector Anastacia Luis; Assistant Match Director Noriel Tan; Range Master Bien Dacasin, Assistant Range Master Apollo Panganiban and Stat Director Jericho Faustino.

According to Sangalang, over a hundred shooting enthusiasts are expected to see action in the shoot fest level II Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA)-sanctioned match and the pistol and mini-riffle match with seven stages.

He said the event is open not only to members of the police force and the military but also to interested civilians and other private individuals who want to test and enhance their marksmanship and shooting proficiency.

The Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) members of the Laguna Provincial Public Safety Company (LPPSC) will serve as quarter master during the two-day event.

The awarding ceremony will be held at the Laguna police provincial office at its headquarters in Camp General Paciano Rizal in Bagumbayan, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. (PNA)
