A total of 75,540 individuals are expected to take the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) in 77 testing centers on Sunday (March 13), the Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced.
Region IV (Southern Tagalog) will have the highest number of examinees at 10,884, followed by 10,392 examinees from Region VI (Western Visayas), and 7,924 examinees from Region XI (Davao Region).
The CSE-Professional test will be taken by 61,075 examinees or about 81% of the total number of examinees, while the rest will take the Subprofessional level.
Chairperson Karlo Nograles announced that the CSC has relaxed its rules considering the low number of COVID-19 cases nationwide.
“We have removed the face shield requirement, but wearing of face masks will still be required. We also urge everyone to take the necessary precautions. As the number of cases continue to fall and we resume the conduct of the civil service exams on a nationwide scale, this is not the time to be complacent because the virus is still here,” he said.
As a general rule in the conduct of civil service examinations, especially under Alert Level System 1, examiners/test administrators and examinees are no longer required to use face shields.
Nevertheless, the use of face shields is strongly encouraged as an added protection against the still existing COVID-19 or Coronavirus Disease.
On the other hand, the wearing of face masks by both examiners/test administrators and examinees shall be strictly required and observed at all times, except in the following conditions:
- during admission when examinees shall be asked by the admitting room examiner to temporarily remove their face masks to check, establish and ensure the identity of the examinee, with the examinee wearing back the face mask as soon as identity has been established; and
- when drinking/taking snacks which shall be done outside the testing room upon approval by the room examiner.
As customarily implemented, the upcoming exams will also strictly observe the “No ID, No Exam” policy. Examinees must present a valid ID card on examination day, preferably the same ID card presented during the filing of application.
If the ID card is different from the one presented during filing of application, the examinee must present any of the following valid ID cards —Driver’s License/Temporary Driver’s License (LTO O.R. must be presented together with old Driver’s License; O.R. alone is not allowed)/Student Driver’s Permit; Passport; PRC License; SSS ID; GSIS ID (UMID); Voter’s ID/Voter’s Certification; BIR/Taxpayer’s ID (ATM type/TIN card type with picture); PhilHealth ID (must have the bearer’s name, clear picture, signature and PhilHealth number); Company/Office ID; School ID; Police Clearance/Police Clearance Certificate; Postal ID; Barangay ID; NBI Clearance; Seaman’s Book; HDMF Transaction ID; PWD ID; Solo Parent ID; or Senior Citizen’s ID. The PhilID Card issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority may also be accepted as valid ID card for the civil service exam.
The CSC also requires fully vaccinated examinees to present the original or a digital copy of their vaccination card/proof of full vaccination, such as the VaxCert; while unvaccinated or partially vaccinated examinees must present a negative RT-PCR, saliva, or antigen test result.
Fully vaccinated individuals assigned in testing centers located in local government units requiring RT-PCR, saliva, or antigen testing must also present negative test results.
“The CSC has put in place, upon consultation with the IATF, these health and safety protocols to protect the examinees, as well as the proctors and examiners, against COVID-19. We appeal for everyone’s cooperation to ensure the safe and successful conduct of the upcoming exams,” Chairperson Nograles said. (CSC)
