PH gov’t vaxes 1.4-M during NVD 4

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday (March 15) said around 1.4 million individuals were vaccinated against COVID-19 during the fourth round of the National Vaccination Days.

DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said during the Laging Handa public briefing that the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is among the areas with low vaccination numbers, noting that only 31% out of the target 84,000 have been vaccinated.

“As usual, pinakamababa ay iyong BARMM… 31% palang ang kanilang nabakunahan,” she said.

The government continues to encourage the public to get inoculated amid vaccine complacency and hesitancy concerns, especially now that supply is stable.

“Nasa 64.5million ang fully vaccinated, so halos tatlong linggo, dapat maka-5.5million, that’s one to two million a week,” she said.

“Sa palagay natin maabot natin, kaya nag-request ang iba’t-ibang regions to continue vaccinating. Kung ‘di man, we will go by different areas, kung sino ang mabilis magbakuna at kung sino ‘yung kailangang magbakuna,” she added. – With reports from Mark Fetalco/PG
