BP2 program continues, over 700 assisted

The government’s Balik Probinsiya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) program has continued to aid displaced workers and those wanting to return to their home provinces even with the further easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

The government is processing today (March 28) the application of 19 individuals and five Filipino families who are bound to Northern Samar on Tuesday (March 29).

Under Executive Order No. 114 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte, the government provided for all of the applicants expenses, including transportation, requirements, and other necessities to also assist them in their transition.

The BP2 began in March 2020 in response to the surge of Filipinos who lost their livelihood in the cities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To date, the program has already assisted over 700 individuals since its launch and it is set to continue serving BP2 beneficiaries.  (PTV News)/VC- ag
