Department of Internal and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Eduardo Año said there has been a huge decline in the minimum public health standard violations amid the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in the country.

In his report during President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Talk to the People, Año noted that violation against COVID-19 protocols, particularly not wearing masks, has dropped to 21% or 32,165.

These figures were lower than the number of violators of not wearing masks last May to June 2021, when 50,021 violators were recorded.

Moreover, the conduct of mass gatherings has also dropped by 86%, with only 43 recorded numbers which is lower than last year’s 613 mass gatherings.

Aside from that, cases of no physical distancing has also decreased from 2021’s 13,882 cases to present’s 6,935.

“Ito po ay sa mga area na natitirang under Alert Level 2 sapagkat sa Alert Level 1 naman ay ina-allow na po natin ng 100 percent maximum sa mga venue capacity,” Año clarified.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on April 1 released the new list of provinces and municipalities under Alert Level 1 and Alert Level 2 which will last until April 15. -gb
