PITX equipped for Holy Week passengers

The Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is all set for the influx of passengers for the Holy Week.

In the Laging Handa Briefing on Friday (April 8), PITX Corporate and Government Relations head Jason Salvador reported that the current volume of commuters in PITX is around 91,000 a day which sometimes reaches up to 100,000.

Salvador said they expect more passengers this Saturday until Thursday next week due to the Holy Week and the summer season.

“We expect an increase of around 20 to 25%. Siguro papalo tayo around 100,000 to 110,000 everyday, coming from Saturday going towards Thursday. Sa good Friday bababa na ‘yan, kasi inaasahan natin naka-uwi na sila lahat,” he said.

The official added that additional transportation units are already approved by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to smoothen their bus operations.

“Kita na natin ang pagtaas ng demand, humiling na tayo sa LTFRB ng mga karagdagang units at ito ay kaagad naman nila pinag-bibigyan,” he said.

Meanwhile, he urged the public to make an advance booking instead of walking-in to buy tickets.

The PITX operations start from 4:00 a.m until midnight. – ag
