Magnitude 6.2 quake rattles Davao Oriental

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake rattled Davao Oriental Tuesday morning, April 19, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

According to Phivolcs, the quake was felt around 9:23 a.m. and was traced 57 kilometers south of Manay Town. It had a depth of kilometers.

Phivolcs also recorded the earthquake intensity IV in Manay, Tarragona and Lupon, Davao Oriental; Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur; Mati City; and Biglig City; Intensity III in Don Marcelino; Davao Occidental; Cateel and Bangaga, Davao Oriental; Tandag City, Surigao del Sur; and Davao City; Intensity II in Bansalan, Davao del Sur; and Intensity I in Matalam, Cotabato.

Instrumental Intensity II was felt in Bislig City and Davao City, while Instrumental Intensity I was felt in Kidapawan City and General Santos City.
