Filipinos in Israel told to avoid going to West Bank, Jerusalem

The Philippine Embassy in Israel cautioned Filipinos in Israel against going to the West Bank and some parts of Jerusalem amid the ongoing tensions in the area.

In an advisory issued on April 21, the Embassy warned overseas Filipinos against going to the West Bank, Temple Mount, Damascus Gate, Al Wad Road, Musrara Road, and the surroundings of East Jerusalem until May 3.

Golan Heights and nearby areas around the borders of Lebanon and Gaza should also be avoided, the Embassy added.

“Hangga’t maaari iwasan o ipagpaliban muna ang pagpunta sa matataong lugar, o sa mga lugar na kilala bilang tagpuan/lipunan o meeting place ng maraming tao.”

The Embassy also advised overseas Filipinos to immediately hide or evacuate when clashes erupt in Israel and warned against taking photos and videos during chaos.

In case of emergency, overseas Filipinos may call the Embassy hotline at +972.54.466.118. – gb
