Over 13,000 take civil service exams

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

A total of 13,131 examinees took the civil service examinations on Sunday, April 24, administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Originally scheduled on Sept. 12, 2021, CSC moved the exams on April 24.

Meanwhile, other exams administered were for Fire Officer Examination (FOE), Penology Officer Examination (POE), and Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE).

CSC said the National Capital Region recorded the highest number of examinees with 3,067, followed by Western Visayas with 2,153, and Cagayan Valley with 1,717.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles said the recent civil service exams were “smooth and successful,” except for an incident where an examiner was caught allegedly cheating.

Nograless thanked all the examiners who participated in the examinations and vowed to work on improving their examination services for Filipinos who want to work in the government.

The CSC is scheduled to administer another round of the CSE Professional and Subprofessional tests on August 7, coinciding with a second run of the CSE-FSO and first run of the Intermediate Competency on Local Treasury Examination or ICLTE, the application period for which will begin on 2 June.

It is also set to hold a second run of the FOE, POE, and BCLTE on 23 October, with applications to be accepted starting 18 August.” — gb
