By Alyssa Marie Luciano

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that a low pressure area (LPA) was seen 220 kilometers southwest of Zamboanga City as of 3:00 a.m. of Thursday, April 28.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the LPA that comes with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect areas in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao which may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies, and localized thunderstorms which may bring flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The weather bureau also reported light to moderate wind speed directing from east to southeast in Northern Luzon, while a light to moderate wind speed directing to east will be experienced by the rest of the country.  – ag
