Rain showers to prevail over VisMin, Palawan

By Veronica Corral

Rain showers will continue to prevail over Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said on Friday, April 29.

Partly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be expected over extreme Visayas while cloudy skies brought by the recent low pressure area will cause isolated thunderstorms over the Negros, Panay Island provinces, Cebu, and Bohol.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the ITCZ affecting Mindanao will bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The same weather condition will also prevail over the Davao region, Soccsksargen, and the Sulu archipelago while rain showers will be experienced over Palawan also brought by the ITCZ.

The weather system will continue to affect extreme Mindanao until the weekend.

Meanwhile, fair weather caused by the easterlies will prevail across Luzon with rain showers over parts of the Ilocos region, Benguet, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Metro Manila.

PAGASA added that light to moderate winds from east to southeast will blow in the entire country with slight to moderate coastal waters condition. -ngs
