Cabaroan-Silang-Pacang (CASIPA) Bridge to be constructed soon

Department of Agriculture Secretary William Dar led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Cabaroan-Silang-Pacang (CASIPA) Bridge in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur on Friday, April 29.

The highly anticipated infrastructure sub-projects of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) will provide improved transportation and good business to the province of Ilocos Sur as the bridge is planned to connect six barangays to the provincial road.

The CASIPA bridge has a total project cost of P101,766,095,00 million pesos and will measure 120.9 linear meters with 5.6 carriage width, and 358.81 meters approaches having 6.1 carriage width.

Dar said  the construction of the bridge will bring positive impact to farmers and the whole country’s agriculture.

Presently, the bridge for barangays Cabaroan, Silag, Pacang, Langaoan, Ampuagan, and Lesseb is made of a pipe culvert that can be easily submerged in floodwaters during the rainy season. The construction is targeted to begin on June 1, 2022. ML–ag
