MANILA – Vice President Leni Robredo with the whole Angat Buhay team will hold a thanksgiving event on Friday, May 13, at the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) campus.

Dubbed “Tayo ang Liwanag,” Robredo said this is to extend their gratitude to all their supporters and volunteers who took the journey with them during the campaign period.

Through the VP Leni Robredo Facebook page, an announcement was made Thursday afternoon on the change of venue from Liwasang Aurora in Quezon City to AdMU.

“Magbabago ang venue ng ating Thanksgiving Gathering bukas, Biyernes, ika-13 ng Mayo 2022, alas-5 ng hapon. Alinsunod ito sa desisyon ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Lungsod ng Quezon na hindi magbigay ng permit para sa orihinal na venue (The venue of our Thanksgiving Gathering tomorrow, Friday, May 13, 5 p.m. has changed. This is in accordance with the decision of the local government of Quezon City not to grant us permit for the original venue ) in Quezon Memorial Circle,” according to the post.

“Bagamat ikinalulungkot namin ito, iginagalang namin ang pasya ng lokal na pamahalaan. Nananabik kaming makasama ang mga kaibigan, kapwa-volunteer, supporter, at kapwa Pilipino sa Ateneo grounds bukas (While we are saddened by this, we respect the decision of the city government. We are excited to be with our friends, co-volunteers, supporters, and the rest of the Filipinos at the Ateneo grounds tomorrow)”, it added.

Robredo went live via Facebook expressing gratitude to everyone who supported and volunteered during the campaign and inviting them to attend the event.

She also went through all the gifts they received during the campaign period.

“Gusto ko to ipakita kasi hindi ako nakapagpasalamat enough sa mga nagbibigay pero pinag-iisipan naming baka puwedeng yung iba ilagay natin sa museum, tapos yung iba ay, wala pa ano pa to up in the air, auction lalo na yung mga art work kasi pwede pangsimula natin for our Angat Buhay programs (I want to show this because I was not able to thank enough those who gifted these. We are thinking of putting some in a sort of a museum, while we may auction the others to raise fund for the Angat Buhay programs),” Robredo said.

She is also thinking of giving some of the gifts to her volunteers so they may benefit other people.

Robredo said that she just came from her hometown in Bicol and that her supporters in Naga are thinking of putting up a “pink museum” to keep the most important memorabilia. (PNA)
