Fair weather, isolated rains seen in most parts of PH Tuesday

MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience fair weather with isolated rains due to thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Tuesday, May 17.

The frontal system affecting extreme Northern Luzon will bring rains over Batanes, Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte.

No low pressure area or weather disturbances are currently being monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Aurelio said.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail over the rest of Luzon. Cloudy skies will prevail in the afternoon until night, and rains are likely due to thunderstorms.

Light to moderate to at times heavy rains will be experienced, Aurelio said.

Up to 35 °C temperature is forecast in Tuguegarao; 34 °C in Laoag; 33 °C in Legazpi. The temperature in Metro Manila, Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa may reach up to 32 °C.

Aurelio said fair weather would prevail over the Visayas and Mindanao, but isolated rains caused by thunderstorms will still be experienced.

Just like in most parts of Luzon, light to moderate, to at times heavy rains are forecast in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Davao’s temperature may reach up to 33 °C; up to 32 °C in Cebu, Iloilo, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon. (PNA)
