Palace congratulates 12 new senators

Presidential Communications Secretary and Acting Presidential Spokesperson Martin Andanar congratulated on Wednesday, May 18 the 12 newly proclaimed senators who won in the recent 2022 national elections.

The “Magic 12” is set to complete the incumbent senators to form the 19th Congress of the Philippines.

“Our people have elected old and new faces in the Senate, and there is a sense of hope and optimism with the new set of lawmakers,” Andanar said in a statement.

“It is now time to move forward after a divisive election campaign and begin the daunting task of speeding up our economic recovery affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.

He also urged everyone to “work closely together and pray for our nation’s success.”

Among the senators who made to the Magic 12 senatorial spots are Robin Padilla, Loren Legarda, Raffy Tulfo, Sherwin Gatchalian, Francis Escudero, Mark Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Joel Villanueva, Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, Risa Hontiveros, and Jinggoy Estrada.- gb
