PH team invited to 2022 Roundnet World Championships

By Myris Lee

Roundnet Philippines is gradually being recognized in the international sports scene since its establishment in 2020. In fact, it hast received an invitation from the International Roundnet Federation (IRF) to compete at the inaugural 2022 Roundnet World Championships.

The competition is set to take place in Molenheide, Belgium on September 8 to 11 where all the Roundnet National Teams all over the world will gather to represent their countries.

According to the IRF, it is important for the Philippines to join the historic event because of its good standing.

“National teams from all across the world will gather to represent their countries in the competition, build relationships, and collaborate to drive the sport forward. As a member in good standing of the IRF, it is essential that the Philippine is represented in this historic event,” the invitation read.

However, the IRF will not shoulder the accommodation and travel expenses of the invitees.

The IRF hoped that the Roundnet Philippines could get support from the country’s sporting authority or fundraising for its representation at the world championships.

“We know that the travel and accommodations from the Philippines to Belgium represent a significant investment. We hope that your own fundraising, the IRF’s and the support of your country’s sporting authority will allow the Philippines to be represented at the World Championship,” IRF said.  – ag
