PBA: SMB escapes Blackwater in OT

The San Miguel Beermen needed an extra five minutes to hack out a hard-earned overtime win over a stubborn Blackwater Bossing quintet, 110-107, in the PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday, July 10, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Blackwater refused to give up despite trailing by as much as 21 points at one point.

In overtime, June Mar Fajardo canned two free throws following a JVee Casio three-pointer.

Rashawn McCarthy had a chance to tie the game with time winding down in the extra period but his three-point attempt fell short.

Fajardo led the Beermen with 25 points and 18 rebounds. Jericho Cruz also finished with 25 markers while CJ Perez chipped in 23 points.

McCarthy led the Bossing with 22 points while Rey Suerte finished with 18 markers. – bny
