PBA to probe Blackwater’s Desiderio abuse allegation

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) issued on Wednesday, July 13, a statement on the domestic abuse allegation against Blackwater player Paul Desiderio by his former partner.

According to the PBA, they will “not tolerate any form of domestic abuse,” and reiterated that doing such acts of abuse is “inexcusable.”

“This report deserves to be given serious attention by both the ballclub concerned and the PBA itself,” it stated.

The ball association said they will “hand down its findings and resolution” soon as the facts have been provided with them.

PBA said they are “confident” that the Blackwater management will give full coordination and assistance to ensure a “just determination” within the association.

In a Twitter thread on July 13, Desiderio’s ex-partner Agatha Uvero shared several incidents of alleged maltreatment including strangulation, punching, and hitting.  – ag
