Diesel, kerosene prices to go down Tuesday

For the fifth consecutive week, another rollback will be implemented on the prices of diesel and kerosene on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Diesel prices will go down by P0.60 per liter and kerosene by P0.75 per liter for Shell, PetroGazz, Clean Fuel, and Seaoil consumers, while gasoline prices will increase by P0.75 per liter.

As of July 26, the year-to-date increases in oil prices stand at P18.90 per liter for gasoline, P32.95 for diesel, and P28.05 for kerosene.

The Department of Energy said the price rollback is due to the new interest rates in the United States, Europe, and other countries. The depreciating oil prices also offset the higher peso-dollar exchange rates, resulting in slight gas price uptick.

Meanwhile, Petron also announced a P2.00 rollback for each kilo of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and P1.15 for auto LPG effective Monday, Aug. 1. This is due to the weaker demand amid the winter season in the northern hemisphere.  – Report from Naomi Tiburcio/AG -gb
