PNP to deploy 23-K personnel for face-to-face classes resumption

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to deploy more than 23,000 personnel around the country in every school premises as face-to-face classes resume on Monday, Aug.22.

In the Laging Handa briefing, PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajrado said that the “Ligtas Balik Eskwela S.Y. 2022-2023” was part of the PNP’s initiative to ensure the safety and orderliness of school premises, transportation hubs, as well as the security of the students, teachers and parents as classes resumes.

“We will be deploying more or less 23,000 [plus] PNP personnel na ipapakalat po natin yan nationwide. Particularly, dyan po sa mga premises po ng eskwelahan, at kasama na rin po ang mga pulis na ilalagay po natin na in-establish na mga police assistance desk para ang ating mga estudyante na may security concerns ay madali pong makakahingi ng tulong sa ating mga pulis,” she said. 

Fajardo added that they will have COVID-19 patrollers who will coordinate with every management to ensure that health protocols will be maintained.

“Maglalabas din po tayo ng mga tauhan natin na tinatawag po natin na COVID-19 patrollers na sya pong makikipag-ugnayan sa mga  management po ng mga establisyimento pati na rin po ng mga eskwelahan, to make sure po na masusunod po yung ating minimum public health standards and protocols,” she added. – gb
