LPA to bring scattered rains this Saturday

By Alec Go

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Calabarzon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur on Saturday, Aug. 27, according to the country’s weather bureau.

In its 4:00 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said this is due to a low-pressure area (LPA) spotted over the coastal waters of Polillo, Quezon at 3:00 a.m.

PAGASA said there is a possibility for flash floods or landslides to take place in the said areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is also affecting Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms may also occur.
