VP Sara recognizes sacrifices, dedication of Filipino teachers

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte recognized on Tuesday, Sept. 6, the sacrifices, dedication, and passion of Filipino teachers.

In a speech during the 2022 National Teachers’ Month, Duterte stressed the crucial role of the education sector in “molding the minds of children.”

Duterte said teachers “deserve respect and admiration” for all the guidance and assistance they have provided to all their students and parents especially during the height of the pandemic.

“We saw how they worked with the barangay officials, youth  leaders, local government leaders, the private sector, and our development partners to be able to deliver the modules, help facilitate community learning hubs, and provide additional learning resources to our children,” she continued.

Duterte also assured that the Department of Education will continue to respond to the needs of Filipino teachers. –Katrina Gracia Consebido/gb
