President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. arrived in the country on Sunday morning, Sept. 25, after concluding his six-day working trip to the United States.

Marcos arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 around 6:09 a.m where he was welcomed by Vice President Sara Duterte and other government officials.

In his arrival speech, Marcos cited the key outcomes during his working trip in New York.

“I expressed interest in enhancing our role in [United Nations] peacekeeping operations, especially in the Middle East where we have a large concentration of OFW [overseas Filipino workers],” Marcos said.

“I shared with them the priorities of the Philippines and our interest to work with them in addressing food and security, and climate change, among other issues,” he added. “Our discussions with the business community affirms the optimism with which international investors view the Philippines today.”

Marcos said he is confident that his US visit is a “good start for opportunities” where investments, projects, and programs will arrive under his administration that will “benefit the country and our countrymen.”

“We in the Philippine delegation are one in our assessment that the work done in this trip serves as a good start for opportunities identified to be made into programs and projects to benefit the Philippines and our countrymen,” Marcos said. – gb
