ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, isolated rains Saturday

The National Capital Region and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms on Saturday, Oct. 1, the weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its’ 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin that this is due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and localized thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods or landslides.

The rest of CALABARZON, Occidental Mindoro, Central Luzon, and portions of northern Luzon will have partly cloudy skies, and may experience warm and humid weather by noon due to easterlies.

There is also a low chance of rains in Metro Manila between 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Portions of Visayas and Mindanao have a high chance of experiencing rain showers early in the morning.

Meanwhile, two to four tropical cyclones may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) this month, which will be given their local names “Maymay”, “Neneng”, “Obet”, and “Paeng”.

“For the next three days, wala tayong inaasahang bagyo na papasok ng ating PAR,” Estareja said.
