Four hundred thirty-three bettors won the 6/55 Grand Lotto draw on Saturday, Oct. 1, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office announced.
PCSO said 433 bettors got the winning combination of 09-45-36-27-18-54.
The jackpot prize amounting P236,091,188.40 will be divided among the winners. Each will take home P545,245.
Meanwhile, no bettor won the 6/42 jackpot of P24,908,649.60.
‘Statistically hard, but not improbable’
The rare combination and the number of winners have had netizens asking, “what are the odds?”
However, PCSO made it clear that while it is “statistically hard” to have such a number of winners, “it is not improbable.”
“Since the combination of numbers must be a common bet combination,” PCSO said in a statement.
“The draw is televised and recorded. Each ball is weigh individually. The choice of the winners is not computer generated or manually drawn,” it added.
PCSO also said the number of winners are spread in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
