The Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) overtook the state-run University of the Philippines (UP) as the top Philippine university in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
From being excluded in the rankings in 2022, AdMU rose to the 351-400 bracket, while UP sank to the 801-1,000 bracket from last year’s 601-800 bracket.
Meanwhile, De La Salle University and Mapua University, both made it to the rankings, placing at the 1,201-1,500+ and 1,501+ brackets, respectively.
Globally, the University of Oxford topped the rankings for the seventh consecutive year, while Harvard University came in second.
This year’s rankings include 1,799 universities across 104 countries and regions.
The rankings were based on 13 indicators including teaching, research, knowledge, transfer, and international outlook. –ag
