Two senators aired their support to Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla after his eldest son Juanito Jose Remulla III was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 13, during anti-illegal drug operations in Las Piñas City.

“Knowing Sec. Boying Remulla for three decades, I know he will not tolerate this even if its his son who is involved,” Senator JV Ejercito said on Friday, Oct. 14.

“Iba ang prinsipyo ni Sec. Boying. Kilala ko ang taong ito,” he added.

“Ako ay nasa likod ni Secretary Boying Remulla sa pagsubok na kanyang pinagdaraanan,” Senator Robin Padilla said.

“Bilang Ama naiintindihan ko po ang pagdurugo ng kanyang puso at tibay ng kanyang dibdib,” he added.

Meanwhile, the National Unity Party (NUP) also expressed their support for Remulla.

“The NUP continues to express support for Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, vice chairman of the Party, during this difficult period,” NUP said in a statement.

“As a principled man, we know that Secretary Remulla will always uphold the rule of law. We know that he will let the justice take its course.”

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said that there is “no basis” for him to resign because he is doing his job.

“I think the calls for him to resign have no basis for somebody to resign who is doing his job,” Marcos said.

“I think that being the Secretary of Justice, he’s very aware that he must allow the processes of the judiciary to work properly and no one in the executive should interfere,” he added. – gb
