Food and travel magazine TasteAtlas ranked Philippines’ “inasal na manok” as the fifth best chicken dish in the world.
The rankings were based on audience rating, according to Taste Atlas.
“Inasal na manok” earned 4.6 out of 5-star rating.
In first to fourth places were Peru’s pollo a la brasa, Indian’s butter chicken and tikka, and Iran’s jujeh kabab.
The food encyclopedia described “inasal na manok” as “a unique Filipino grilled chicken dish which originated in Bacolod and became the signature dish of the entire Visayas region.”
“It employs various chicken cuts marinated in a mixture of vinegar and numerous spices such as lemongrass, garlic, and ginger.”
