LTO gears up for Undas

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is gearing for the influx of commuters and passengers in commemoration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day to ensure the public’s safety.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Teofilo Guadiz III said the agency will implement the heightened alert in all their offices and mobilize their enforcers starting from Oct. 27 to Nov. 4.

Guadiz vowed to maintain the public’s safety and orderliness in public roads during Undas.

“The public can rest assured, however, that the LTO will monitor the situation in our roads in close coordination with various transport groups and other concerned government agencies in the areas of law enforcement and medical emergency response to ensure that road safety will always be observed and maintained,” he added.

The LTO already conducted a multi-sectoral coordination meeting with law enforcement groups and road management units of the government to prepare for Undas.

The agency also conducted a seminar among public utility bus drivers and conductors to intensify their campaign against drunk driving and illegal drugs. – gb
