President Ferdinand R. Marcos on Thursday, Oct. 27, led the distribution of financial and livelihood assistance in Davao City.

In his speech, Marcos assured the public they will keep up with the programs and initiatives that will provide more livelihood and strengthen the economic situation in the country.

“Makakarating din tayo doon, dadahan-dahanin natin at gawin natin ang lahat para maging mas matibay ang hanapbuhay, maging mas matibay ang ekonomiya, maging mas maganda at mas malinaw ang ating kinabukasan dito sa Pilipinas,” Marcos said.

The President also acknowledged the national government’s initiatives for the continuous assistance to all the affected Filipinos due to calamities and constant inflation in the country and globally.

“I’m happy to be here today to be with you and to know that the national government continues to provide the assistance that we know that you need,” he added.

“I hope that these will somehow mitigate the shocks, kasi ‘yung mga pangyayari, ‘yung pagtaas ng gasolina, ‘yung pagtaas sa lahat ng produkto ng petrolyo ay galing talaga sa labas ‘yan” he continued.

Marcos distributed checks under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Emergency Employment Program worth P183 million that were given from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to eight beneficiary-barangays.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development also distributed food packs and P5,000 to 500 beneficiaries under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
