‘Paeng’ death toll hits 121; missing persons at 36

The death toll from Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” has hit 121, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Wednesday, Nov. 2.

NDRRMC also reported that 103 persons were hurt, while 36 were still missing.

“Paeng,” which devastated the country late last week, affected 927,822 families or over three million individuals.

Meanwhile, NDRRMC said that 225 roads and 96 bridges remained impassable.

A total of 148 cities and municipalities from Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Soccsksargen, and the Bangsamoro Regions were still experiencing power interruption.

Damage to the energy sector was pegged at P7.4 million.
