Couple rider dead in Laguna road mishap

A couple died in a road accident Sunday, Nov. 13, on Marilaque Road in Santa Maria, Laguna.

Authorities said Jhogg Algoso was driving his motorcycle with his wife Paula as backrider along the Marilaque Road when their motorcycle hit an SUV.

“Nung rumesponde po, dead on arrival na rin po ‘yung lalaki,” Sta. PSSg. Angiero Macabasco of Maria Municipal Police Station said.

A rider who was trailing the couple also crashed, but suffered no injuries.

The driver of the SUV, meanwhile, also suffered no injuries.

Macabasco said a road widening project is set to be completed in Marilaque Road.

He noted that more road signs have been placed along the highway.

Macabasco also reminded motorists to avoid overspeeding to avoid accidents. Report from Sheena Malquisito/IBC/GB – ag
