ITCZ to bring rain showers over parts of PH

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

The weather bureau on Thursday, Nov. 24, said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over some areas in the country.

Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, and Davao Oriental may possibly experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

“Warm and humid weather will prevail over the rest of the country, but there are chances of localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Daniel James Villamil said.

No low pressure area or weather disturbance was seen to affect the country, Villamil added.

Meanwhile, extreme Northern Luzon will continue to experience moderate winds and moderate seas.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. – gb
