MMFF Parade of Stars starts Dec. 21

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars is set to start on Dec. 21 in Quezon City, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

MMFF will celebrate its 48th edition with a theme “Balik Saya sa MMFF 2022.

The parade will last for two hours and 30 minutes and will start from Welcome Rotonda, Quezon Avenue to Quezon Memorial Circle at 2:00 p.m.

A total of eight official entries will be assisted by the MMDA on the sidelines of the parade route for crowd control.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will provide P500,000.00 funds in aid to help market the films through CreatePHFilms.

CreatePHFilms funding program is designed to support filmmakers, producers, and distributors in producing quality Filipino films.

The MMFF also signed a Memorandum of Agreement with BingoPlus, an online bingo game platform that will serve as the film festival presenter.

Meanwhile, MMDA and MMFF Over-all Chairman Atty. Romando Artes said that this year’s film festival will offer a “wide variety of genres” that will feature the Filipino traditions that are just timely for the holiday season.

“This year’s festival promises an exciting selection of films for all moviegoers. It offers a wide variety of genres that will complete the tradition of Filipinos going to the cinemas during the holiday season,” Artes said.

The official eight entries to the MMFF 2022 are: “Deleter” by Viva Communications Inc., “Family Matters” by Cineko Productions, Inc., “Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told” by Borracho Film Production, “My Father, Myself” by 3:16 Media Network and Mentorque Productions, “Nanahimik ang Gabi” by Rein Entertainment Productions, “Partners in Crime” by ABS-CBN Film Productions, “Labyu with an Accent” by ABS-CBN Film Productions and “My Teacher” by TEN17P.

The MMFF movie entries will run in cinemas nationwide from Dec. 25 until Jan. 7, 2023.
