2 weather systems to bring scattered rain showers across PH

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

Most areas in the country will experience rains due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the shear line, the weather bureau said Thursday, Dec. 1.

In its latest weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the shear line will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Apayao, Cagayan, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.

The same weather condition will prevail over the Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga del Norte due to the ITCZ.

These areas may possibly experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon.

PAGASA also forecast rough to very rough seas over the northern and western seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte; the western seaboards of Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan; and the northern and eastern seaboards of mainland Cagayan.

Fishing boats and other small sea vessels are advised not to venture into the sea, and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
