88,000 devotees join Nazareno ‘Walk of Faith’

Around 88,000 devotees joined the “Walk of Faith” for the Feast of the Black Nazarene early Sunday morning, Jan. 8, according to the Manila Police District (MPD).

The procession started around 2:00 a.m. and lasted two hours from the Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.

It, however, proceeded without the image of the Black Nazarene.

“Ang ‘Walk of Faith’ po ay napakamatiwasay po at maayos. Pagdating po sa seguridad, napakaayos din pong nailatag at naisakatuparan kaya natapos po nang maayos na maayos,” P/Capt. Rowel Robles, commander of the Plaza MirandaPolice Community Precinct, said.

The annual “Traslacion” is still suspended for the third straight year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
