The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Monday, Jan. 23, turned over 10 mobile laboratories (MTL) and 16 service vehicles in its regional and provincial offices.

TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz said the operating units aim to reach out and deliver more effective and quality services in far flung areas in the country.

Cruz noted that the target of MTLs is to aid the TESDA program especially in remote areas with high poverty incidence.

Many people want to enroll in technical vocational courses but are unable to do so due to the distance between their homes, according to Cruz.

The new MTLs, worth P79 million, will offer courses such as carpentry, plumbing, and food processing.

With a report from Denevin Macaranas/Katrina Gracia Consebido – gb
