‘Amihan’ to bring rain showers across Luzon, Visayas

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

Light rain showers due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will dampen Luzon and the Visayas Thursday, the weather bureau said.

Localized thunderstorms, on the other hand, will cause isolated rain showers in Mindanao.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail over the entire archipelago, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas.

Rough to very rough seas are forecast over the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and the Visayas.

Fishing boats and other small sea vessels are advised not to venture into the sea and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Over Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. – gb
