The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) said Monday, Feb. 6, that it is investigating a staff of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after allegedly being unprofessional while screening members of a K-pop group.

This, after a video showing airport security “giggling” while screening members of K-pop artists ENHYPEN.

“It has come to the attention of the OTS that there is a video circulating on social media, showing that airport Security Screening Officers allegedly exhibited unprofessional behavior,” OTS said in a statement.

OTS also called out the “unwarranted filming” during the conduct of security screening procedures on the boy band group while departing the airport.

“The management is currently investigating the matter to determine the extent of violation committed based on existing rules and security screening protocols if any,” it added.

The agency also vowed to impose appropriate administrative sanctions on the staff if necessary.

“While we understand the excitement brought about by the presence of these Korean artists, we remind not only our personnel, but all airport users, that unauthorized filming at our security screening checkpoints is not allowed as a matter of policy,” OTS stressed.

The hashtag #MIAADoBetter became one of the trending topics on Twitters as fans of ENHYPEN urged the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to take accountability after the video went viral online.

ENHYPEN recently finished their three-day “Manifesto” world tour in Manila on Feb. 6.
