More Filipino couples favor live-in arrangements –PSA data

More Filipino couples are favoring live-in arrangements, based on the recent poll conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The percentage of couples in live-in marital arrangements increased by 5.5% to 14.7% in 2020 from 9.2% in 2015.

Among the age groups of individuals in live-in arrangements, the highest proportion was reported in the age group 25-29 years with 20.8%.

PSA also observed the same trend among those divorced, separated, or annulled, registering 1.9% in 2020, up from 1.5% in 2015.

Meanwhile, the percentage of widows remained the same in 2015 and 2015 at 4.5%.

The same survey also found that the number of married persons rose by 1.52 million from 32.35 million in 2015 to 33.87 million in 2020.
