The Energy Development Corporation (EDC) extended condolences to the bereaved families of the four passengers aboard the Cessna aircraft RP-C2080 that crashed last Saturday near the Mayon Volcano’s crater.

“We mourn the confirmed passing of our dear colleagues, Captain Rufino James Crisostomo Jr., Joel G Martin, Simon Chipperfield, and Karthi Santhanam, who were on board the Aircraft RP-C-2080 that was reported missing early Saturday morning shortly after taking off from the Bicol International Airport,” EDC President and Chief Operating Officer Richard Tantoco said.

“Our heartfelt sympathies go to their families and friends during this difficult time,” he added.

The statement was issued through Albay Congressman Joey Salceda.

Tantoco thanked and commended all the rescuers from different government agencies and volunteers for the swift search and retrieval of the passengers.

“It is with the deepest gratitude that we thank the tireless efforts of all the rescuers from branches of government, civilian volunteers, and EDC Emergency Response Teams from across the country,” said.

“The local government has declared that the rescue efforts have now been reclassified as retrieval efforts,” he continued.
