The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) now consists of 20% women coast guardians, up from 15% in 2001, according to its official.

“PCG Juanas now take stride in non-traditional roles in law enforcement, environmental protection, intelligence and security operations, search and rescue, safety, cooperative arrangements, adjudications, community services, and humanitarian efforts,” CG Aviation Force Commander CG Capt. Christine Diciano said.

Diciano also recognized PCG’s trust and support to female Coast Guardians by providing them with inclusive career development, access to resources, and learning opportunities.

“With a strong leadership before us, I know that we can ensure platforms that are participatory, empowering, equitable, and sustainable across all levels,” she continued.

“Ang pagbibigay ng kritikal at napapanahong desisyon sa ating paglilingkod ay mahalaga. Maging halimbawa tayo ng kababaang-loob at mabuting pakikipagkapwa-tao,” she added. -ag
