Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito Dolor ordered a temporary suspension of drinking water fetched underground in areas affected by the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro.

The suspension was made through the recommendation of Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire after she held an inspection in the province on March 5.

Dolor identified the affected barangays and advised their officials to warn their residents not to drink water near oil spill-affected areas as it is no longer safe for human consumption.

According to Dolor, the provincial government will distribute drinking water for the affected barangays to ensure the safety of the residents.

– gb
