BuCor reopens Bilibid, CIW for visitors

Visitation has resumed at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa and the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) announced on Thursday, May 25.

This after visitation privileges were suspended at the facilities for more than two weeks due to a surge of COVID-19 cases among persons deprived of liberty.

While COVID-19 cases at NBP and CIW are now contained, BuCor reminded the visitors that they are required to wear face masks before entering the premises.

A negative rapid antigen test result taken 24 hours before their visit is also required.

The schedule for visits is set from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Wednesdays to Sundays. CF/with reports from Louisa Erispe – gb
